Bio Museu Zer0
Starting from the initiative of the Instituto Lusíada de Cultura-ILC, a non-profit association founded in 1982 and declared of public utility in 1991, the works necessary for the creation of a Museum dedicated to digital arts, rehabilitating a significant part of the facilities of the Agricultural Cooperative in Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo.
The main concept on which this Museum will be based will be the creation of a place for the physical representation of digital works of art. This materialization will involve sharing (the works to the public), but also hospitality (welcoming the resident artists).
The great challenge, and bet, starts exactly from the context in which this intervention will be carried out (abandoned industrial facilities, in a territory still mainly agricultural, in the process of desertification, but where extraordinary aspects and values of the Algarve's ethnography, culture and heritage remain alive) and the ambition to transform it into a center dedicated to artistic production that will project the Algarve and Portugal internationally.
Our partners are, from the most relevant public and associative entities for the digital arts, at national and international level, but above all the partnerships that we are establishing with the museums that already exist today at European level.
The Zero Museum will also be based in a very unique way in the territory where it will be installed. First of all, because of its location in the agricultural complex of the silos, which unavoidably stands out as a landmark.
