ARTURb is a unique project in the Algarve that involves some of the most important names in urban art. This project consists of a period of artistic residency at LAC, followed by an exhibition in the same location and various public art interventions in the city of Lagos, guided tours and the launch of the catalogue.

During the period of artistic residency, artists have complete freedom to develop their work inside and outside the collective space of LAC (former prison in Lagos), which is available for any intervention, adaptation or artistic creation.

ARTURb is a concept of art on tour and national and international artistic exchange based on participatory presence, local experience and coexistence. This event makes possible: the exchange of ideas, the presentation of new concepts, the confrontation of aesthetic and cultural realities, the unusual experience and the free circulation of art. ARTURb’s objective is to create decentralization synergies between talent and artistic participation, in order to encourage and add value to cultural tourism in the city of Lagos.

Alongside this project comes ARTURb In My Wall, a way of valuing and promoting ARTURb, thus attracting the attention of the population and visitors to the residency that takes place in September.

With the development of ARTURb, art in Lagos has become visible around the corner, offering anyone the opportunity to enjoy a work of art in a public space, to be stimulated and sometimes provoked by it.

In this way, the city has been gaining physical and artistic testimony, now featuring works by some of the most representative authors of the contemporary urban art scene, as well as, ROA, BEZT, SAINER, C215, ARYZ amongst many others.
