Synopsis
What role does contemporary sculpture play in communicating archaeology in a museum context?
How can sculpture fit into archaeological research in order to develop new ways of thinking and representing, of communicating and exhibiting?
In this lab, students can learn about works that connect these two aspects and discuss the role of the artist as an active participant in communication processes linked to scientific knowledge.
Biography
SARA NAVARRO
D. in Fine-Arts Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine-Arts of the University of Lisbon and develops her activity between research, artistic practice and teaching. As part of her doctoral research, she discussed the possible role of contemporary sculpture in communicating archaeology in a museum context.
Articulating an innovative dialogue between art and archaeology, Sara regularly presents and publishes her work in solo exhibitions and international conferences.
