Workshop to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the creation and presentation of Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro’s “Zé Povinho”. Creation of a sculptural piece inspired by Bordalo’s character, focused on a contemporary and reflective vision. Empowering the provocative and transformative power of society through art.

Sandra Afonso was born in Aveiro in 1978. She studied sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto and had her first solo exhibition in 2009 at the Aveiro City Hall. Her work focuses on self-representation and/or the representation of others. The figure appears as a simple motif or in small moments of contemplation or meaning, memories and fragments with their own little ironies.
