Cigarra’s solo musical performance in Live Act with songs that bring an engaged and seductive research, crossing diasporic marginalities with the commotion of pop and experimental subversion. Crunchy and creamy, just the right amount of venom to make the dance floor sweat.

Ágatha Barbosa aka Cigarra (São Paulo) born in São Paulo, a city where she grew up in the daily flows of immigration and developed street expression tactics in party collectives, has been a DJ, performer, music producer and cultural agent for over 15 years. She has spent half of this time on the Lisbon scene in partnership with the city and dissident artists, has had her resident parties in the city’s main venues and is an agent of the rise of street carnival in Portugal. Carniçeira, BLOCU, MeioFio (Alkantara Festival), Ancestrofuturismo, SOMA, Hystereofônica, Roda de Sample are some of the projects she has led over the years in her research into decolonial crossroads. Cigarra has played festivals in more than 10 countries across Europe, with an album (as Trypas Corassão) and two EPs released and tracks on various compilations around the world, as well as signing original soundtracks for dance, performance and film shows.
