Synopsis
In the city of Porto, granite is everywhere – on the walls, in the streets, in the houses. It’s raw, resistant material, marked by time. It is a symbol of firmness, character and collective memory. It is also a mirror of who we are.
In this exhibition, Colectivo RUA – born and raised among these stones – explores granite as a metaphor for our identity: individual and collective. Through self-portraits and collaborative works, each artist reveals their trait, their strength, their language. Different styles, unique voices, but which intersect and merge like the blocks that build a city.
Between shades of grey, colors and shared material, a body of work is created that speaks of friendship, connection and creating together. Our RUA!
RUA Collective
Founded in 2006 in Porto, Colectivo RUA is an artistic project that currently brings together 11 artists with consolidated paths in the visual arts and a common background in graffiti. The group is made up of Alma, Ivan, Draw, Mash, Fedor, Oker, Third, The Caver, Pedro Podre, Vírus and Mesk.RUA’s work focuses mainly on street art and muralism, but also extends to gallery production and small formats. Each element brings its own visual language and distinct artistic identity, contributing to the creation of works that result from the fusion of these universes – unique intersections that amplify the collective’s impact and expressiveness.
