Target audience: General public (aged 15 and over) with an interest in drawing, especially observation, with or without experience.
Synopsis
The Drawing classes aim to develop the ability to observe, understand and represent three-dimensional reality. Based on the observation of natural and artificial forms (which will include the human face, the human figure, the urban environment, the landscape, fauna and flora), strategies will be developed to capture the main characteristics of reality, such as volume, depth, chiaroscuro, texture, proportions, perspective…
Through point, line and stain, the potential of various materials will be explored [graphite pencils, colored pencils, pens, markers, charcoal, blood, white chalk, china ink, dry pastel, oil pastel, watercolor]. There will be room for creative and expressive exploration. Simple printing techniques will also be explored.
Biography
The classes will be taught by Mara Taquelim (Luanda, 1962) – Teacher of the Visual Arts group, she has been teaching since 1989 (in the 3rd cycle and secondary school), the year in which she completed her degree in Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL). Her passion for drawing later led her to take a Master’s degree in Drawing, also at FBAUL, completed in 2009. In the area of graphic design she has had several participations, some of them awarded. Sporadically she has made incursions into the field of illustration. He has attended several workshops on drawing and participates in the initiatives of urban sketchers algarve. The desire to devote more time and attention to the artistic area, has recently requested an interruption of teaching activity.
