ESCREVENHAR Laboratory, with MadFildz
Aimed at 8th, 10th, and 11th grade classes from the Gil Eanes School Group
November 10, 11, and 14
Synopsis
What would the world be like if letters had never been invented? Who invented written languages? And are they all the same? What does writing have to do with drawing? Through a brief journey through the history of art and written communication, we seek to understand the connection between writing and drawing as forms of expression and communication intrinsic to the human species, and how they continue to develop to this day.
Using various examples, including the local example of the Epigraphy of Bensafrim, classes will explore the artistic universe of the construction of written and visual languages and establish relationships between them.
