Exhibition “UNIÕES. DE FACTO”

The exhibition UNIÕES. DE FACTO is the result of two challenges issued to the resident artists of the Artistic Residency Programme of the Creative Activities Laboratory (PRALAC).

The first challenge consisted of producing/executing pieces for an exhibition at the ªSede gallery in Porto, taking into account some of the physical characteristics of the space and LAC’s own history of exhibitions in this gallery. The next challenge, launched a posteriori, was for each artist to identify and choose from LAC’s vast collection of over 300 works a piece to be exhibited side by side with the work resulting from the first challenge.

This formula, which allows each artist to simultaneously take part in and curate part of a group exhibition, paves the way for future challenges of confrontation but also complementarity between LAC resident artists, guest artists and the association’s collection, creating synergies that have not yet been properly explored in the creative universe that LAC presents.
