Synopsis

Learn how to make music on your iPad/Notebook using free applications such as GarageBand and Korg Gadget 3 LE. This beginners’ workshop covers creating tracks, connecting to speakers and MIDI equipment and how to overcome common setup problems. Bring your iPad/Notebook and any portable sound equipment or MIDI controllers. You’ll get practical tips, creative ideas and the confidence to start producing music without wasting money on unnecessary equipment.

Biography

David McKenzie is a musician, programmer and tinkerer based in Denmark, WA, with a passion for sound and electronics. Active in local arts and festivals, he creates music, interactive installations and performances that explore the creative potential of reused technology. From ambient soundscapes to DIY instruments, David loves the journey from concept to creation in the ever-evolving world of hybrid art.
