SHORT TERM PROJECTS IN 2021

Cruzes + Vargas = 3 (PT) – Visual Arts
November 01st until December 31st 2021

Synopsis

A project that is born from people, first from the people who got together to develop it, who have different knowledge, experiences, methodologies and professional paths, in an attempt to complement the theory and concept of the Cruzes + Vargas project. This creative duo uses experimentation, social and anthropological analysis, city/territory and space as fuel for creation: reason, thought, discourse, study, demonstration, art, criticism.

The means are diverse and dictated by the unfolding of the experimental attitude and process and the plasticity through the installation in a physical space will be structural and primordial.

The entire project is registered in a web environment, through the Instagram account @cruzesvargas, thus making public the evolution of the creative, conceptual and formal process.

Bio

Pavel Franzusov was born in Kiev / Ukraine in 1980. At the age of 13 he emigrated to Germany with his family. Franzusov studied philosophy, mathematics and sociology at the University of Heidelberg and then did his Ph.D. in philosophy on the contemporary way of dealing with death. Pavel Franzusov has been working as a freelance video artist and filmmaker since 2007.

For Franzusov, art is the search for answers in places where science is silent. Connected to his family’s artistic tradition from the beginning, he tries to find new forms of dialogue mainly through his work in films, videos and sculptural installations. Often, the aim of his art is to create new perspectives on today’s social problems.

The artist lives and works in Berlin
