Synopsis
“We are the starting point. Our body, the way we walk, eat, run, dance. And also how we yawn or stumble. And with all this we observe in ourselves… we create! But… what if we were a little different, or even a lot… how would we do it all? Would we experiment? How would we feel? How does it feel to be another within us? Could it be that the “other” is a little bit of us…? We do. We experiment and, who knows, we create.”
Biography
Rita Rodrigues, I was born in 1977 in Lisbon. I started taking drama classes with António Feio in an informal group in the late afternoon and since then I have never been able to escape. I graduated in Advertising by mistake. I graduated in “gesture theater” at the Estudis de Teatre school in Barcelona. At the Faculdade de Letras I did a post-graduation in Theatre Studies. I participated in a series of workshops related to theater/voice/movement because I love taking classes and learning. The last course I completed as a student was at Fórum Dança in “Dance in the Community”. I have been working as an actress/performer since 1998. I have worked with several directors/creators such as Luís Castro, Claudio Hochman, Jorge Fraga, Sofia Cabrita, Ana Sofia Paiva, Sílvia Real, Martin Joab, Giacomo Scalisi among others. I have given theater classes to children between the ages of 3 and 15 and for the last 4 years I have been working with the senior theater group of Portimão (O GRUPO).
