Biography

RoMP (acronym of “Rita os Meus Pés”), born and raised in Lagos, has a degree in Equipment Design from FBAUL (2013) and a Master in Product Design from ESAD.CR (2017). She attended the first year of the Sculpture course at FBAUL, where she started working in stone, a subject she has never left behind.

She has worked in partnership with Studio Astolfi where she created stone objects for the store window of the Hermès Lisboa store (2017). Obtained a research scholarship from ESAD.CR, where she designed furniture in stone for the new brand MANTA, presented during Maison et Objet Paris (2017). He already has four Symposia developed at an international level. In 2019 he made his first public sculpture, as part of the project Places of Globalization, exhibited in the town of Monchique, with the title: “Monumental Tree”. In March 2021, he inaugurated the public sculpture honoring his deceased friend Matthias Sandeck, placed at the fishermen’s belvedere in Praia da Luz. The most recent collection “Silêncio”, is distinct from past works due to the application of black paint, used to reinforce the notions of space, emptiness and absence.
