José Miguel Gervásio (Montijo, October 28, 1968)

Lives and works in Montemor-o-Novo. Graduated in Fine Arts – Painting (1989-1994) from the School of Fine Arts (now the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto). Master’s degree in Artistic Practices in Visual Arts, School of Arts, University of Évora, (2019-2021). He is currently in the 3rd year of his PhD at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, in the scientific area of Fine Arts, specializing in Painting, on a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology.

He has been exhibiting regularly since 1994, having been represented by two prestigious Portuguese art galleries, Galeria Quadrado Azul (Porto), from 1999 to 2005, and Módulo – Centro Difusor de Arte (Lisbon), from 2009 to 2019. In this context, he has participated in art fairs in Portugal and Spain, and is represented in various public and private collections, including the Carmona e Costa Foundation (Lisbon) and the “Graphic Cabinet” of the Vatican Apostolic Library (Rome) and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Art Library (Lisbon).
