Synopsis
In this workshop we will address the theoretical foundations of screen printing, using examples of work by artists such as Andy Warhol and the Pop Art movement, and will give a presentation of the materials and tools used, preparation of the canvas and inking, printing and cleaning of the frames. Participants will be able to experiment with direct drawing, using an alternative technique – the stencil – which will define areas of obstruction and passage of the ink on the silkscreen frame, allowing an initial understanding of the technique. Finally, each participant will print their drawing on paper or on a textile piece brought by themselves. The aim of this activity is to stimulate creativity, understand the basic fundamentals of the technique and the process of creating and cutting a stencil, through the stylisation of the image and differentiation of the positive and negative of the same, and the (re)production of an image through a silk screen.

His work reflects an interest in the issues of technology vs. genetics and nature. Currently he is developing pieces that propose to question canons through the evocation of stereotypes, with particular emphasis on everyday objects associated with the spectrum of the human female – not in opposition to these, but in its (un)appropriation. She joined the LAC collective in 2020, and since August 2021 she has been the coordinator of the Association’s Education Service.
