Synopsis
We will begin by covering the theoretical foundations of screen printing in general, using examples of work already done by Officina Noctua and presenting the materials and tools used.
Each participant will have to develop their ideas individually.
Then get to work!
We will experiment with direct drawing using various alternative techniques (with graphite, watercolor, stencil…) to define the areas of inking obstruction on the silkscreen board.
These experiments allow for unique, expressive and more intuitive plastic registration possibilities.
The subsequent phase deals with the printing itself: preparation of the screen, inking, printing on paper, cleaning and recovery of the painting.
Still on paper, the overlapping of several prints in different colors and other more or less random effects that can be achieved through screen printing using the combination of shapes created by the participants will be experienced.
Finally, each participant will elaborate a drawing that will be printed on a t-shirt or other textile piece that should be brought by the same.
