Synopsis
TRYPAS CORASSÃO is made up of Tita Maravilha and Cigarra, a Brazilian duo made up of urgent bodies of marginal womanhood and trans fury, in a hybrid and sensual proposal, which brings a live act full of noises and creamy appeals. This is an aesthetic and political project of hybrid creation between electronic music and performance, where the body, which carries various memories and disremembrances of violence, now has the power of change in its hands. Thus, unraveling the frontiers, frontiers, re-frontiers of genre and expression, through sound languages from different shores of Brazil and the world, from funk to jungle, chewing on POP and (traditional) popular culture, historical samples, the dramatic over and the post-romantic.
Biography
Tita Maravilha (Pirenópolis, 1993) is an actress, singer, performer and clown. Through the idea of the political body, she brings to her artistic processes the pains and delights of being a dissident body. She graduated from the University of Brasilia in 2018 and has been living in Portugal since the same year. She has created several artistic works and was the winner of the 5th edition of the Amélia Rey Colaço Scholarship, promoted by the D. Maria II National Theatre, Vila Flôr Cultural Center, O Espaço do Tempo and Viriato Theatre.
Cigarra (São Paulo) has been a DJ, performer, music producer and cultural agent for over 15 years. She has spent half of this time on the Lisbon scene. In partnership with the city and dissident artists, she has thrown parties in the city’s main venues. Her music brings an engaged and seductive research, crossing diasporic marginalities with the commotion of pop and experimental subversion.
Big John (Aracaju, 1988) has been a musician since 2008. He began playing accordion in forró bands and then specialized as a keyboard player, composer and music technology researcher. Five of these years have been dedicated to the Couttoorchestra, a band from Sergipe that has made a name for itself on the national and international scene. He has also composed soundtracks for advertising, election campaigns and cinema
