Synopsis

Às Cegas com Camões

A visual poem is a hybrid creation that dissolves barriers between literary and visual genres, by deconstructing and reconstructing grammatical and linguistic elements, by recombining visual signs, achieving a new aesthetic dimension and performative potential. Based on the work Os Lusíadas, by Luiz de Camões, each participant is invited to select excerpts from it and find their own interpretation in them through the exercise of Black Out Poetry, highlighting linguistic elements by hiding others. This process of concealment can be more or less graphic…

The set of individual pieces is then brought together and reorganized into one (or more) collaborative and participatory composition, inviting new interpretations.

Using current technology, we will try to reflect on the parallels we can draw between the digital and virtual worlds and the compositions created. Could the technology at our immediate disposal (i.e. cell phones) produce something similar? Can we – and how – use this same technology for creative purposes?

By raising questions and appealing to critical and analytical thinking and technological knowledge, previous compositions can be translated – and produced – in new formats.

Biography

MadFildz has a degree in Painting from FBAUL (2010) and a Master in Fine Arts (2012). She specialized in Mosaic, developed installation projects and curated in several contexts. His work reflects an interest in the issues of technology vs. genetics and nature. Currently he is developing pieces that propose to question canons through the evocation of stereotypes, with particular emphasis on everyday objects associated with the spectrum of the human female – not in opposition to these, but in its (un)appropriation. She joined the LAC collective in 2020, and since August 2021 she has been the coordinator of the Association’s Educational Service.
